Location of Other Los Angeles Museums

Click on the listings below to view aerial photos of every major museum in Los Angeles, including the Museum of Tolerance. As you can see, no other museum is located immediately adjacent to a residential community. This makes the Museum of Tolerance unique, and that is why so many conditions were imposed on the Museum in the 1986 Conditional Use Permit (see "Key Documents"). In fact, the Simon Wiesenthal Center would not have been allowed to proceed with construction of the Museum of Tolerance if it had not agreed to abide by all of those conditions, which were intended to protect the adjacent neighborhood of single-family homes. Now, in 2008, the Simon Wiesenthal Center is seeking to revoke ALL of these conditions.
